Check out the newest narrated video tutorial at the ESA Shop!

That's right, after overwhelming requests from some dedicated followers, I've now released my first complete narrated video tutorial here on the site. And for the first week, you can get it for $5 off the full price!

In this tutorial, I've condensed a 10-hour digital painting process into 3 hours of fully narrated video content to hone in on the most vital elements of the process. I walk you through the entire painting process of my piece “Huntress in the Valley”, from idea generation and thumbnailing, to value mapping, digital painting techniques, adding photo textures, and finishing touches to bring your piece to presentation quality.

So if you've been waiting for an opportunity to experience a more in-depth walkthrough of my process, and learn how to can apply the same techniques to your own work, now is the time! Check it out here and learn the secret ways of my craft :) Thank you all for your feedback and support over the past several months! I'm very pleased to finally have an opportunity to share my insights with fellow artists. Cheers, Eben

Check out this week's stream here!

I had a lot of fun with this one, experimenting with my recently completed brush pack and getting into the process with some nice, relaxing music.

I had quite a few regulars turn out for this one, who got to help shape the development of the painting as I moved forward (the whole piece was based off of a suggestion from Jorgen, who has been a regular attendee for the streams since I started them earlier this summer).

I also had some people commenting and saying that sometimes they just keep the stream on while they're working on other tasks, with the relaxing music, pen scratches, and narrated process serving as nice background noises while they work or paint. In any case, thanks to everyone who showed up tor today's stream, and if you haven't yet, you should check it out each Sunday at 12 PM EST and say hi, leave a comment or request, and become part of the creation process! Hope to see you all next week :) Cheers, Eben

Yes, it's been a long time coming, but to to overwhelming requests from a handful of dedicated fans, I've now create my own custom digital art brush pack for my fellow digital artists out there. I've spent quite a bit of time refining these tools to serve me as well as they possibly can. And now, I'm sharing these brushes with you so you can replicate my own traditional/digital style hybrid approach in your own work!  As a thank you to those of you who read these blog posts beyond the first couple of sentences (it's ok, I know these can get a bit long), I'm offering you 30% off this brush pack for the next week! Just use the coupon ESABRUSHES during checkout. Just click on the link above or go to my BRAND NEW Shop page (more coming on this later!) to check it out! I'm very pleased to be creating some materials for fellow artists, digital and traditional alike. These brushes are created with a simplistic approach in mind, and to be accessible for anyone just starting out in the digital medium or even experienced artists who want to see a more traditional look in their work. And the best part is, when you purchase the pack, you get access to all future updates and additions to the brush pack free of charge, so if you get it now, you could have access to a regular stream of new and updated brushes for the same starting price! Thanks to everyone who has been following my progress here, and please drop a comment on this blog and let me know what you want to see in the new ESA Shop, whether it's art prints, merchandise, tutorials, or other digital products. Cheers everyone, Eben
